Today several members of The Labour Campaign to Homelessness team traveled to Parliament to meet with the inspirational Teresa Pearce MP.
Teresa is the shadow minister in charge of Labour’s policy on homelessness and – good news: she’s agreed to become our patron!
We had a detailed 90-minute discussion, during which we explained to Teresa how our campaign came about and what our vision is for ending homelessness.
Both our team and Teresa were clear that we cannot solve the homelessness crisis without first solving the housing crisis. I know that Teresa is the perfect person to tear apart what is frankly a very lazy Housing and Planning Bill currently before Parliament.
We look forward to working with Teresa over the coming years and we are also pleased to reveal that either Teresa herself, or another member of Labour’s shadow housing team, will be speaking at our launch event on November 24th!
